U.S. Ambassador Learns about Successful Birthing and Infant Care Experience at Simferopol Maternity #2
United States Ambassador in Ukraine, William B. Taylor visited Simferopol Maternity #2 on as a part of his working visit to Simferopol, January 22. During the visit, Ambassador Taylor was briefed about the successful implementation of effective evidence-based perinatal technologies and practices implemented by USAID’s Mother and Infant Health Project. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) today recognized the Industrial Union of Donbass Corporation and the City Council of Alchevsk with the 2008 Global Development Alliance of the Year award for its efforts to promote community and economic development through the Partnership for the Future of Alchevsk. Tyco Adds A New Landmark To Ukraine's Greenfield Landscape
The inauguration of Tyco Electronics' newly-built manufacturing facility in Ivano-Frankivsk on Wednesday marked completion of the first phase of a $50 million investment project by one of the premier companies in the United States. The ceremony took place on the new site of Tyco Electronics Ukraine Ltd. in the Khryplyn Industrial Area of Ivano-Frankivsk. Automation Improves Efficiency, Increases Transparency
Automated Case Management System reduces paperwork and decreases potential for corruption in Ukrainian Courts. Nadiya Lushchak, chief of staff of the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Court of Appeals, knows how to effectively manage a court, but a caseload which has nearly doubled since 2002 left the judges and court administrators in her court burdened with paperwork. US Reasserts Commitment to Ukraine on International AIDS Remembrance Day
Ukraine marked International AIDS Remembrance Day on May 18 with commemorations around the country. In Kyiv, the capital, government officials, representatives of international donor organizations and civil activists gathered at the Red Ribbon Memorial located before the Lavra HIV/AIDS Clinic to commemorate the victims and raise awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Ukraine.
