The Information Fair was the last event of Energy Efficiency Days in Kyiv, which was held from 7 to 12 of November. The purpose of the Information Fair was to raise awareness of Ukraine’s energy dependence and the importance of energy conservation in apartment buildings.

On November 12, 2011, nearly a thousand children and adults gathered together in Shevchenko Park to participate in an Energy Efficiency Information Fair organized by USAID’s Municipal Heating Reform (MHR) Project in collaboration with Kyiv City Administration.

"Today, our guests are children – young Ukrainians who will determine the future of our country.  So it is very important for us to tell them about the necessity to save energy, to teach them to save and correctly use heat and light in their homes. That is, we need to start changing the mentality and attitude of Ukrainians towards the more efficient use of energy resources," said Viacheslav Lisovyk, the Head of the Chief Department of Energy, Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of the Kyiv City Administration.
