Since 1992, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission to Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus, has been working to assist the region in its transition to a broad-based, market-oriented democracy. While each of these countries' developmental challenges are unique, the Mission's programs are broadly focused on the areas of democracy and governance, economic growth, and social assistance. With headquarters in Washington, DC, and field missions in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and the Near East, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Europe and Eurasia, USAID, as the U.S. government's Agency for International Development, has been implementing America's foreign economic and humanitarian assistance programs since 1961. USAID works in close partnership with private U.S. based voluntary organizations, indigenous institutions, U.S. businesses, and other national and international agencies. The USAID Mission to Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus is based in Kyiv, Ukraine and can be contacted at:
